The project “Heart Guitar”, appears as a response to dynamics in the context of Guimarães 2012 European Capital of Culture.
This creative endeavor merging the worlds of engineering and culture, explores the innovation of traditional elements of Portuguese identity through current technologies.
Using composite materials and technologies developed at PIEP (Pole for Innovation in Polymer Engineering, in Guimarães), thus building on local knowledge and resources, a Portuguese guitar in the shape of “2012 Heart” is conceived and developed.
Behind this project lie the ideas and commitment of a team with expertise in multiple fields and arts.
Thanks to this joint effort, an object of technological, cultural, artistic, musical and symbolic value is born.
